Pulwama Police Tightens Noose on Drug Network; 212 Grams Charas-Like Substance Recovered, One Arrested

Pulwama, Apr 29 (JKNS): In a continued crackdown against the drug menace under its sustained anti-narcotics drive, Pulwama Police achieved a significant breakthrough by recovering a contraband substance and arresting one person in Litter area of the district.

As per news agency JKNS, Continuing its sustained drive against the drug menace, Pulwama Police achieved a significant success by recovering a contraband substance in the jurisdiction of Police Station Litter.

On receipt of reliable information, a police party from Police Station Litter conducted a search at the residence of one individual identified as Mohd. Abass Thoker, resident of Audoora. The search was carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, strictly following due legal procedures.

During the search, a charas-like contraband substance in powder form was recovered from his possession. The total weight of the seized substance was approximately 212 grams.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 50/2026 under Section 8/20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 has been registered at Police Station Litter, and further investigation has been initiated.

Pulwama Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicating the drug menace and urges the general public to cooperate and share any information related to drug trafficking. Strict action will continue against those involved in such illegal activities. (JKNS)
