Hajin Crackdown: Illegal Poppy Crop Uprooted in Anti-Drug Operation, FIR Registered

Srinagar, Apr 27 (JKNS): Acting tough against narcotics cultivation, authorities on Monday destroyed illegal poppy crops in Hajin during a joint enforcement drive under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, while also registering a formal case to identify and prosecute those involved.

As per news agency JKNS, In a major step towards curbing the menace of drugs, a joint operation was carried out in the Hajin area under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan.

 

 

 

 

The operation was conducted by the Police Department in close coordination with the Revenue, Agriculture, and Excise Departments.

 

 

 

 

During the drive, illegally cultivated poppy crops were identified and destroyed on the spot in strict accordance with the law, sending a strong message against narcotics-related activities in the region.

 

 

 

 

In this connection, a formal case has been registered vide FIR No. 57/2026 under Sections 8/18 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation has been initiated to identify those involved and to determine the full extent of the illegal cultivation.

 

 

 

 

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to a drug-free society and stated that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in such unlawful activities. (JKNS)
