Srinagar Police Extends Helping Hand to EWS Children Under Civic Action Programme

Srinagar, Apr 23 (JKNS): In a continued effort to strengthen community engagement and promote education among underprivileged sections, Srinagar Police on Thursday distributed school supplies among children belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) under the Civic Action Programme 2025–26.

As per news agency JKNS, As part of its ongoing community outreach initiatives under the aegis of Civic Action Programme 2025–26, Srinagar Police.

The program was held collaboration with the J&K Human Touch India Foundation, organized a distribution drive at District Police Lines (DPL) Srinagar, providing school bags and stationery items to children from Economically Weaker Sections of the society.

The event was presided over by SSP Srinagar, Dr. G.V. Sundeep Chakravarthy, IPS, who personally distributed the items among the beneficiaries.
SP Headquarters Shri Shah Umer, DySP Headquarters Ms. Syed Sleet Shah, DySP DAR Shri Nazir Ahmad, and other officers were also present on the occasion.

Ms. Kurat Zargar, Chairperson of J&K Human Touch India Foundation, represented the NGO and participated in the programme.

The initiative aimed at encouraging education among underprivileged children while reinforcing trust and engagement between the police and the community. Refreshments were also arranged for the participating children and attendees.

Srinagar Police remains committed to supporting social welfare initiatives and strengthening its bond with the public through such meaningful engagements. (JKNS)
