DYSS Holds Anti-Doping Drive in Poonch, Promotes Drug-Free Sports Culture

Poonch, Apr 20 (JKNS): Under the visionary guidance of Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K Anuradha Gupta, the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) organized a high-impact Anti-Doping Awareness Programme on Monday at Mandi in district Poonch.

As a part of the Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan 100 Days Campaign, the event was held in collaboration with the 53 Battalion Border Security Force (BSF) to foster a clean, drug-free sporting culture.

Attended by Commandant 53 BN BSF, Deputy Commandant Varinder Singh (SM), and ZPEO Mandi, S. Rajinder Singh, showcasing inter-departmental unity against substance abuse.A poignant documentary was screened, detailing the catastrophic effects of drug addiction on physical health, families, and social structures.

 

Inspector Dr. Lakshahta Ghalote delivered a keynote lecture on the legal and professional perils of doping. She warned that banned substances lead to severe penalties and permanent loss of credibility, urging athletes to choose “fair play” over shortcuts. Dr. Ghalote lauded DYSS for reaching far-flung areas and providing constructive outlets for youth energy.

 

The program, executed under the supervision of DYSSO Poonch, Mohd Qasim saw massive participation from students and local athletes. Officials emphasized that discipline and ethical practices are the only sustainable paths to athletic success. (JKNS)
