SPO Dismissed in Anantnag After NDPS Link Surfaces, Police Enforce Strict Discipline

Srinagar, Apr 17 (JKNS): Acting tough against internal misconduct, Anantnag Police have disengaged a Special Police Officer (SPO) after his involvement surfaced in a case registered under the NDPS Act, officials said.

Police spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, In a decisive action reaffirming its commitment to maintaining discipline and integrity within the force,SSP Anantnag has disengaged one Special Police Officer (SPO), namely Mohammad Ashraf Malik, son of Mohammad Ramzan Malik, resident of Kuchal, Kishtawar.

 

 

 

 

The said SPO was found to be involved in Case FIR No. 57/2023 registered under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act at Police Station Devsar. Taking serious note of his involvement in the said case, the department initiated appropriate action, leading to his disengagement from service, it reads.

 

 

 

 

Anantnag Police maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of misconduct or involvement in unlawful activities by its personnel. The department remains steadfast in upholding the rule of law and ensuring accountability at all levels. (JKNS)
