The protest is part of a three-day agitation launched by Patwaris, who have expressed serious concern over mounting workload pressures and long-pending recruitment-related issues.

District President Altaf Ahmad Malik stated that the protest will continue until their demands are addressed. He described the current workload as “unbearable,” warning that it is adversely affecting both the efficiency of revenue officials and the delivery of public services.

He further noted that increasing responsibilities without corresponding structural reforms have placed immense pressure on Patwaris, limiting their ability to provide timely and effective services to the public.

Protesters said that the excessive workload has led to delays and inconvenience for the general public, urging authorities to intervene immediately and take concrete measures to improve the working conditions of revenue officials.

The association had earlier announced a three-day strike on April 13, 15, and 16 in connection with issues related to Class IV recruitment and administrative reforms.

Among the key demands raised are the completion of the recruitment process in a fair and transparent manner, strict implementation of court orders, and ensuring equal opportunities for all eligible candidates.

The protesters also called for the resolution of recruitment issues pending since 2014, adherence to reservation norms, and finalization of the seniority list pending since 2015.

The association reiterated that the agitation will continue until meaningful and concrete steps are taken by the authorities to address the concerns of revenue officials. (JKNS)
