The incident occurred following protests by students, during which parts of the school infrastructure were damaged. Doors, windows, and classroom property were reportedly vandalised, disrupting academic activities for the day.

As per news agency JKNS, The Joint Director, who visited the school premises to assess the situation, confirmed that prompt action had been taken against the accused teacher after allegations of misconduct surfaced. “The teacher was suspended on the same day, and a formal inquiry has been initiated. An FIR has also been lodged, and the matter is now under police investigation,” he said.

Expressing concern over the damage to the institution, Tanvir said such acts harm the educational environment. “This institution belongs to our children and to Sopore. The destruction caused is deeply regrettable and affects everyone associated with the school,” he added.

He urged students, parents, educators, and the wider society to act responsibly and uphold moral values, saying destruction is not a solution and only leads to loss for students and staff.

Despite the disruption, the department announced that normal classwork will resume from Thursday. Authorities assured that necessary steps will be taken to restore normalcy while ensuring discipline and order.

Tanvir also reiterated that any criminal aspects of the case will be dealt with strictly as per law, adding that police will take appropriate action wherever legal violations are established. (JKNS)
