Midnight Fire Damages Seven Houses in Nowhatta Area of Srinagar

Srinagar, Apr 14 (JKNS): A fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday in the Chandpora locality of Nowhatta, damaging seven residential houses, officials said.

An official told news agency JKNS that the blaze erupted around midnight, prompting a swift response from Fire and Emergency Services teams.

He said the fire started in a single house and quickly spread to nearby structures, leading to significant damage.

Fire tenders, assisted by police and locals, worked for nearly an hour to bring the situation under control and eventually extinguish the flames after hectic efforts.

Officials confirmed that seven houses were affected in the incident, while no casualties or injuries have been reported. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation. — (JKNS)
