MLA Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi Assures Early Renovation of GHSS Qazigund

Qazigund, Apr 9 (JKNS): Member Legislative Assembly Anantnag West Constituency Abdul Majeed Bhat Larmi today toured Qazigund and visited Government Girls Higher Secondary School Qazigund, where he assured that the damaged infrastructure of the institution will be renovated on a priority basis within a short period.

During his visit, the MLA stated that he has already taken up the matter with the Minister for Education, Sakina Itoo, expressing hope that funds for the reconstruction will be released within the next few days.

He further added that in case of any delay in the release of funds, he would arrange the required amount from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

Local residents of Qazigund appreciated the timely intervention of the MLA and hailed his efforts in addressing the issue.

It is pertinent to mention that the school suffered significant damage two months ago when a fire incident gutted the first floor of the building, severely affecting academic activities.

Later, the MLA also visited Dak Bungalow Qazigund, where he reviewed the ongoing construction work. He directed the concerned Executive Engineer of the R&B Department to expedite the project on a fast-track basis to ensure the facility becomes operational at the earliest. (JKNS)
