Srinagar, Apr 7 (JKNS): Traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) was halted on Tuesday after a major landslide struck the stretch between Digdol and Khooni Nallah, officials said.

SSP Traffic National Highway Raja Aadil Hamid told news agency JKNS said that vehicular movement from both Jammu towards Srinagar and Srinagar towards Jammu has been stopped as the road is completely blocked due to the landslide.

He cautioned commuters against travelling on the highway until restoration work is completed, citing safety concerns.

The SSP further appealed to the public not to rely on rumours and instead check updates through official Traffic Police platforms, including social media handles and Traffic Control Units (TCUs).
