Avalanche Alert Issued in Ganderbal; Public Advised to Stay Away from Higher Reaches

Srinagar, Apr 4 (JKNS): The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal on Saturday issued an advisory warning of medium-intensity avalanche risk in the district’s higher reaches over the next 24 hours, urging residents, tourists, and nomadic communities to exercise caution and avoid vulnerable areas.

According to the advisory, as per news agency JKNS, the avalanche threat exists above 2400 metres, and people have been strictly advised not to venture into avalanche-prone zones, including steep slopes and hilly terrain, until further directions.

 

The administration has appealed to the public to adhere to official guidelines and cooperate with authorities to ensure safety.
