“The government is headed by Honorable Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Sahib. This was a dream of the people of South Kashmir, and today it has been realized under his leadership,” Minister Itoo said.

She noted that establishing a cath lab, an MRI facility, and a modular OT in Anantnag were once considered impossible, but these projects are now operational. “We have also shifted the Sherbagh Maternity Hospital here, enhancing healthcare delivery for residents and patients coming from Pir Panjal,” she added.

Minister Itoo emphasized the importance of cleanliness and proper patient care, saying, “The hospital is not just a building. Cleanliness is half faith, and keeping the hospital clean directly impacts the health of patients.” She also highlighted initiatives to provide meals to patients and attendants, a service that was unavailable previously.

She further acknowledged the combined efforts of the medical staff, including doctors, paramedics, and administration, stating, “The government has prioritized health and education sectors, ensuring facilities benefit all of South Kashmir.”

Minister Itoo also detailed the cost and capacity of the new MRI machine installed, noting, “This 1.5 Tesla MRI, costing ₹21 crore, along with the cath lab and specialist doctors, is not only for Anantnag but will serve the entire South Kashmir region.”

The minister thanked Chief Minister Umar Abdullah for his vision and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and quality in the region. (JKNS)
