Cultural Academy Union Felicitates New Interim President at Tagore Hall

Srinagar, Apr 3 (JKNS): A grand felicitation ceremony was held on Friday at the Conference Hall of Tagore Hall, Srinagar, in honour of the newly appointed Interim President of the Cultural Academy Union, Ms. Birjees Akhter.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from non-gazetted employees, who extended their heartfelt congratulations and presented her with gifts as a token of love and respect.

Addressing the gathering, the President informed the employees about her recent meeting with the Secretary, Cultural Academy, Ms. Harvinder Kour, in Jammu. She stated that the Secretary has assured that the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting will be held shortly. She further added that the administration has been directed to submit the DPC file by April 6, 2026, for further necessary action.

During her address, Ms. Birjees Akhter reiterated her commitment to resolving the issues faced by non-gazetted employees on a priority basis. She emphasized that the welfare, career progression, and protection of employees’ rights would remain her foremost responsibility. She assured that matters related to service conditions, delays in promotions, salary concerns, and other facilities would be taken up seriously and addressed through concrete measures. She also stated that the concerns of employees would be effectively conveyed to higher authorities to ensure that their genuine demands are fulfilled and a conducive working environment is maintained.

The ceremony concluded on a positive note, with employees expressing their best wishes and full support to the new leadership. (JKNS)
