Residents of the area expressed concern over the arrangement, noting that the official handling additional charge is based in Sopore, which affects efficiency due to frequent travel and divided responsibilities. They highlighted that since December, the sub-division has lacked a dedicated AEE, leading to delays in addressing public issues related to water supply and infrastructure.

Former Chairman of MC Sumbal, Jahangir Ahmad, has appealed to the government to appoint a permanent AEE exclusively for the Sumbal Sub-Division. He emphasized that a separate and dedicated officer is crucial to ensure smooth functioning and timely resolution of public grievances.

Locals have also strongly urged the authorities to provide Sumbal Sub-Division with its own permanent AEE, stressing that the current arrangement is insufficient to meet the growing needs of the area. (JKNS)
