Srinagar, Mar 30 (JKNS): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Monday said that erratic weather conditions are likely to continue across Jammu and Kashmir till April 10, with intermittent spells of rain and snow expected during the period.

Director MeT Centre Srinagar, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, as per news agency JKNS, said that on March 30, intermittent light to moderate rain and snow (in higher reaches) is expected at most places along with thunder and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) till late evening or night, followed by gradual improvement.

He said that from March 31 to April 2, brief spells of light rain or snow at a few places cannot be ruled out, especially towards late afternoon. During April 3 and 4, the weather is likely to remain generally cloudy with light rain or snow at scattered places accompanied by thunder and gusty winds, while April 5 to 7 is expected to remain partly cloudy.

The MeT department further said that fresh spells of light rain or snow are likely at scattered places between April 8 and 10. It also issued an advisory warning of possible moderate rainfall at a few places and moderate snowfall over higher reaches of North and Central Kashmir till this evening, along with the possibility of landslides at vulnerable locations.

Farmers have been advised to resume agricultural operations from March 31 to April 2, while travellers have been urged to follow traffic advisories and plan their movement accordingly. (JKNS)
