Srinagar, Mar 18 (JKNS): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and J&K spokesperson Altaf Thakur today strongly condemned the deadly strike in Afghanistan during the sacred month of Ramadan, which reportedly left around 400 civilians dead, terming it a “brutal and inhuman act that exposes the terrorist mindset of Pakistan.”

In a strongly worded statement, Thakur said that the attack carried out during Ramadan a time devoted to peace, prayer, and compassion reflects utter disregard for human values and religious sanctity.

“This heinous act has shaken the conscience of humanity. Targeting innocent civilians in the holy month of Ramadan is not only barbaric but also a direct assault on the principles of Islam, which preach peace, tolerance, and coexistence,” he said.

He added that such incidents once again underline the persistent threat posed by terror networks operating in the region. “The magnitude of this tragedy, with hundreds of innocent lives lost, highlights the urgent need to expose and isolate those who continue to sponsor and shelter terrorism. The world must recognize and act decisively against such forces,” Thakur remarked.

Expressing deep sorrow over the loss of lives, Thakur extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

He emphasized that no cause or ideology can justify the killing of innocent people, especially during a period considered sacred by millions across the globe.

Calling for a unified global response, Thakur urged the international community to rise above political considerations and take concrete steps to dismantle terror infrastructure. “Silence in the face of such atrocities only emboldens perpetrators. There must be zero tolerance for terrorism in all its forms,” he said.

Reaffirming India’s stand against terrorism, Thakur said that lasting peace in the region can only be achieved through collective efforts to eliminate terror and uphold the values of humanity. (JKNS)
