Ganderbal, Mar 15 (JKNS): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and State Executive Member, Mohammad Amin Shah, has made a formal appeal to the District Administration of Ganderbal to ensure that all essential services are fully operational ahead of the holiest night of Ramadan, Laila-tul-Qadr, and the upcoming festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.

With Laila-tul-Qadr scheduled to be observed tomorrow night, Shah emphasized the need for proactive governance to accommodate the thousands of devotees expected to gather at various mosques and shrines across the district for congregational prayers.

In a statement released today, Shah highlighted several key areas requiring immediate administrative attention, he appealed for ensuring stable electricity during the nocturnal prayers and consistent water supply for ablutions, Intensive cleaning of areas surrounding major religious sites, including the central Jamia Masjids, adequate public transport facilities for devotees and the repair of street lights to ensure safety during late-night hours.

“The administration must be on its toes to ensure that the people of Ganderbal do not face any hardships during these significant spiritual occasions,” Shah stated. “It is the responsibility of the district authorities to provide a hassle-free environment for worship and celebration.”

Beyond the immediate requirements for tomorrow’s observances, the senior leader also called for a long-term plan leading into Eid-ul-Fitr. He urged the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) department to keep a strict check on market prices to prevent hoarding and overcharging during the festive rush.

Shah expressed hope that the administration would act with urgency to facilitate a peaceful and joyous transition from the holy month of fasting to the celebrations of Eid.
