Around One Lakh Devotees Offer Jumat-ul-Vida Prayers at Hazratbal Shrine

Srinagar, Mar 13 (JKNS): Around one lakh devotees on Friday gathered at the historic Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar to offer congregational prayers on the occasion of Jumat-ul-Vida, the last Friday of the holy month of Ramzan.

Details available with news agency JKNS stated that a huge number of worshippers reached the shrine from early morning hours to participate in the special prayers, seeking peace, prosperity and wellbeing for the people of the region.

Authorities had made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of prayers at the shrine. Security was tightened in and around Hazratbal, with personnel from police and other security agencies deployed to regulate the crowd and maintain law and order.

Officials said security remained on high alert across Jammu and Kashmir, with additional deployments at major religious places and sensitive locations to ensure the peaceful observance of the occasion.

Meanwhile, similar congregational prayers were also reported from various mosques and shrines across the Kashmir Valley, where devotees gathered in large numbers and offered special prayers for peace, harmony and prosperity. (JKNS)
