Indian Army Hosts Iftar in Uri, 250 Locals Join Community Gathering

Uri, March 11(JKNS): The Indian Army organised a Iftar with the local community at Kalapahar Ground in Uri Sector during the holy month of Ramzan in which around 250 people attended the gathering,the participants included civil dignitaries, senior police officials, political representatives, social activists, residents of nearby villages, and officers and troops of the Indian Army.

Major General Manoj Joshi, VSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Dagger Division, attended the event and interacted with members of the local populace. In his remarks, he highlighted the importance of harmony, mutual understanding and collective efforts towards maintaining peace and stability in the region. The event aimed to promote brotherhood, compassion, and communal harmony during the sacred month of Ramzan. An Army representative spoke about the importance of unity, mutual respect, and cooperation between the Armed Forces and the local population. He reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to protect the nation’s borders and to maintain trust and goodwill with the Awam.

Evening Namaz was offered at the venue, then Iftar was served to all guests, which created a warm and respectful atmosphere among the participants.
Community leaders and dignitaries appreciated the initiative by the Indian Army. They said such gatherings help build dialogue, trust, and cooperation between the Army and the local community.

The event ended with prayers for peace, harmony, and prosperity for the region and the nation. Officials said the gathering reflects the Indian Army’s continued efforts to promote communal harmony and strengthen civil military relations in the region.(JKNS)
