SMC Holds Preliminary Review Meeting on Census 2027 Preparations

Srinagar, Mar 11 (JKNS): The Srinagar Municipal Corporation today convened a preliminary review meeting at its Headquarters to assess the progress of preparations for the forthcoming Census 2027 and to ensure effective coordination among all concerned departments.

As per news agency JKNS, The meeting was chaired by Nuzhat Qureshi, JKAS, City Census Officer (Urban), along with Suhail Ul Islam, JKAS, Census Charge Officer (Urban), and was attended by representatives from various line departments involved in the census exercise.

During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on the operational framework for the census, including inter-departmental coordination, verification of data, and logistical arrangements required for the smooth conduct of the exercise in urban areas of the city.

The chair underscored the significance of timely planning, institutional coordination, and proactive engagement of all departments to ensure the accuracy and reliability of census data. Emphasis was also laid on streamlining field-level arrangements and strengthening coordination mechanisms to facilitate the effective implementation of census activities.

Officials from the participating departments assured their full cooperation and support to the Census authorities in carrying out the exercise smoothly and efficiently.

The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to strengthen coordination, ensure preparedness at all levels, and undertake all necessary measures for the successful conduct of Census 2027 in Srinagar’s urban areas. (JKNS)
