Pattan, Mar 11 (JKNS): As many as eight important government departments in the Pattan Sub-Division of Baramulla district are currently functioning without permanent heads, causing serious inconvenience to the general public and creating additional workload for the officers who have been assigned extra responsibilities.

According to information revealed through a Right to Information (RTI) application filed by Advocate Saleem Yousuf, several key offices are presently headless. This situation has made it difficult for the officers holding additional charges to efficiently manage both their original responsibilities and the extra assignments.

The departments functioning without heads include Block Development Office Singpora, Block Development Office Khore, Tehsil Office Singpora, Executive Office Municipal Committee Pattan, CDPO Office Singpora, CDPO Office Pattan, Zonal Education Office Nehalpora and Zonal Education Office Pattan.

The absence of regular heads in these offices has reportedly led to delays in official work and hardships for the public who rely on these departments for various services.

Locals have urged the authorities to appoint permanent heads in these departments at the earliest to ensure smooth functioning of administrative work and to avoid further inconvenience to the people. (JKNS)
