The 104 Shakti Vijay Brigade of the Indian Army played a significant and active role in the programme. The brigade has always been at the forefront of supporting welfare and awareness initiatives in the Karnah region. Army personnel participated alongside the civil administration and local residents, reflecting their commitment not only to safeguarding the borders but also to supporting community welfare and environmental protection. Their involvement greatly encouraged public participation and strengthened the bond between the army and the local community.

The main focus of the drive was to clean the banks of Nallah Batamoji so that garbage and waste do not contaminate the water. The nallah is considered very important for the Karnah region as nearly 60 percent of the agricultural fields depend on its water for irrigation.

Speaking to the correspondent, ACR Kupwara Peerzada Mumtaz emphasized the importance of protecting water resources and maintaining cleanliness around water bodies. He said that dumping waste into the nallah can contaminate water and increase the risk of water-borne diseases in the area.

He appreciated the participation of students, youth, traders and local residents and said that such joint efforts are essential to protect the environment and ensure safe water for agriculture and daily use.

The Radio Roohe Karnah team also covered the programme and interacted with officials and participants to spread awareness about cleanliness and the protection of natural water resources in the Karnah region.(JKNS)
