Indian Army to Conduct Defence Porter Recruitment Rally in Machhal

Kupwara, Mar 7 (JKNS): In a significant step towards empowering youth and strengthening civil-military cooperation in the border regions, the Indian Army will organize a Defence Porter Enrollment Recruitment Rally at Machhal in Kupwara district.

The recruitment drive will be conducted from 29 March to 02 April 2026.
This recruitment rally is primarily aimed at providing employment opportunities to the youth of Keran Bowl, Machhal Valley, and nearby villages residing along the Line of Control.

The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued commitment to supporting local communities and encouraging youth participation in constructive and meaningful engagements.
Interested and eligible candidates are required to submit their application forms on or before the last date, 25 March 2026.

The Defence Porter role involves assisting the Army in logistical support, transportation of essential supplies, and operational assistance in challenging terrain of remote border areas. It offers a valuable opportunity for local youth to contribute to national service while securing a stable livelihood.

All applicants are advised to keep their required documents ready and complete the application process within the stipulated time.

Local residents have widely welcomed the announcement, expressing hope that such initiatives will create meaningful employment and strengthen the bond of trust between the Army and the people of border areas. (JKNS)
