Srinagar, Mar 6 (JKNS): Authorities on Friday said that normalcy has been restored across Kashmir and all restrictions imposed earlier as a precautionary measure have been lifted.

Senior officials within the security establishment told news agency JKNS that the decision was taken after the situation across the Valley remained peaceful and under control over the past few days and mostly today as it was Friday.

“There will be no restrictions in place now and normal movement of people and vehicles will resume across all districts tomorrow i.e; Saturday,” officials said.

“Friday prayers were offered across Kashmir and culminated peacefully,” official said.

Authorities, however, said that security forces will continue to maintain routine deployment to ensure law and order and keep a close watch on the situation.

“Notably, restrictions were imposed across all districts of Kashmir on Sunday, March 1, following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.” (JKNS)
