Srinagar, Feb 28 (JKNS): Senior Superintendent of Police Raja Nighat Aman on Saturday stressed that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir must move ahead with clarity of purpose, discipline and strong ethical grounding, asserting that young minds hold the key to the region’s progressive future.

She was speaking on sidelines of the District Level Youth Parliament & Yuva Connect Programme organized by MY Bharat, Srinagar in collaboration with the National Service Scheme (NSS), University of Kashmir, at Government Women’s College on M.A. Road, drawing enthusiastic participation from students and faculty.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, as per news agency JKNS, SSP Nighat Aman emphasized the crucial role of youth in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir. She said that such platforms provide young minds an opportunity to develop clarity of vision, discipline, and strong ethical values.

Speaking about the future of the region, SSP Aman said that the youth must remain conscious and focused about their goals. “Our children are our tomorrow. They must be clear about where they stand and what they aspire to achieve. A clear vision leads to a bright future,” she remarked.

Highlighting the importance of self-reflection, she urged students to constantly evaluate themselves. “When we look into the mirror, it tells us who we truly are. Keep your mirror clear. Remove the dullness and carry clarity in your thoughts and actions,” she said, encouraging students to build strong character and integrity.

She stressed that awareness is key to correcting mindsets and fostering positive change. “Such programmes are necessary because awareness acts as the key to transformation. We need more initiatives like this to guide our youth,” she added.

The SSP also underlined the vital role of parents in shaping young lives. Calling mothers the “first university,” she said that values learned at home lay the foundation for success. “Our parents know us better than anyone. The education and discipline we receive at home prepare us for a bright future,” she stated.

Encouraging originality and self-confidence, she advised students not to blindly imitate others. “Do not copy anybody. Be proud of who you are and move forward with your own identity,” she said.

The programme, organized under the aegis of MY Bharat and NSS, aimed to foster leadership qualities, civic awareness, and constructive dialogue among students. Participants lauded the initiative and expressed hope that more such youth-centric engagements would be conducted in the future.

The event concluded with a renewed call for collective efforts to empower youth and ensure a progressive and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir. (JKNS)
