Jammu, Feb 28 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced a fresh extension for submission of Annual Property Returns (APR) for the year 2025 through the online Property Return System (PRS) portal.

According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), as per news agency Jammu Kashmir News Service — JKNS, employees were originally directed to file their returns from January 1 to January 31, 2026, on the official PRS portal.

The deadline was subsequently extended from February 5 to February 19, 2026, through a separate notification.

Despite the extension, the department observed that a number of employees failed to submit their returns within the stipulated period.

It was also noticed that several employees completed registration on the portal but did not finalize the submission of their property details.

The notification reiterates that non-submission of Annual Property Returns invites action under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Men and Public Servants Declaration of Assets Act and Rules framed thereunder.

It further states that failure to file returns will amount to criminal misconduct under the Prevention of Corruption Act, making defaulting employees liable for penalties under law.

Besides, employees who do not submit their returns shall be denied vigilance clearance.

Taking note of the situation, the General Administration Department has decided to provide a last and final opportunity to the defaulting employees.

Accordingly, the timeline for filing property returns through the PRS portal has been extended by another 15 days from the date of issuance of the latest notification.

Employees facing OTP-related problems have been advised to update their current mobile numbers and email IDs on the CPIS portal.

For other technical issues, employees can seek assistance by emailing their grievances to [email protected].

The department has directed all Controlling Officers and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to ensure strict compliance in their respective offices.

Administrative Departments have also been asked to submit details of employees under their control who fail to file their Annual Property Returns even after expiry of the extended deadline. (JKNS)
