Srinagar, Feb 21 (JKNS): Several prominent leaders and grassroots workers from the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (NC), Indian National Congress (INC), Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Apni Party, DPAP and other political outfits formally joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at a grand function held at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar.

The new entrants were welcomed by J&K BJP President and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Sat Sharma (CA), Leader of Opposition in the J&K Legislative Assembly Sunil Sharma, and General Secretary (Organization) J&K Ashok Koul, along with General Secretary Anwar Khan, Secretaries Arif Raja (Program Incharge) and Mudasir Wani, All Cells Co-Convenor Bilal Parray & State & District Leaders welcomed the new entrants.

Among those who joined the party were Manzoor Ahmad Ganie (DDC Member, Aripal–Pulwama), Mansha Akhtar (DDC Member, Achgoza–Pulwama), Mehmooda Akhtar (DDC Member, Shadimarg), Danish Bhat (Former Corporator, Srinagar Municipal Corporation), Nazir Gilkar (Former Corporator), Altaf Mir (Former BDC Chairman), Khalid Rathore (Provincial President Youth, Apni Party J&K), Aga Syed Abbas Rizvi (State General Secretary, All India Shia Personal Law Board; Former State Secretary, DPAP), Former BMO Dr Yaseen Ul Hussain Bhat, Gulshan Begum Ex NC Sarpanch, Abdul Rashid Zargar (NC Block President Trehgam Kupwara, Aijaz Ahmad Mir (District Secretary PDP Srinagar), Manzoor Ahmed Thakur (District Vice President, PDP Srinagar), Mohd Ashraf Thakur (Secretary PDP Srinagar) along with their supporters and associates joined the BJP on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, Sat Sharma warmly welcomed the new entrants into the BJP family and said that their decision to join the party is a clear reflection of the growing public faith in the BJP’s vision of development, transparent governance, grassroots empowerment, and inclusive growth in Jammu & Kashmir.

Sharma asserted that the BJP’s leadership, experience, and strong public connect would significantly strengthen the party’s resolve to serve the people with dedication and integrity, while further advancing peace, stability, and prosperity across the Union Territory.

Sunil Sharma said that the joining of senior political figures and grassroots representatives is a strong endorsement of the BJP’s policies and governance model.

He emphasized that the party’s commitment to strengthening grassroots democracy, ensuring equitable development, and safeguarding the interests of every section of society would continue with renewed vigour.

Ashok Koul remarked that the steady influx of leaders and workers from different political backgrounds is indicative of the BJP’s expanding organizational base and credibility across Jammu & Kashmir.

He underlined that the party’s disciplined cadre, clear ideological direction, and development-oriented approach are being increasingly recognized by the people of the region.

The newly inducted members expressed confidence in the leadership of the BJP and affirmed that they would make sustained efforts to contribute wholeheartedly toward the progress, peace, and overall development of Jammu & Kashmir. (JKNS)
