Awantipora Police Seized 04 Vehicles Involved in Illegal Mining Activities in Tral and Awantipora

Awantipora, Feb 22 (JKNS): In continuation of its sustained drive against illegal mining, Awantipora Police have further intensified enforcement efforts across Police District Awantipora.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, As part of this initiative, police have seized 02 Tippers and 02 tractors involved in the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in the areas of Tral and Awantipora.

In Tral, a police party from Police Station Tral, led by SHO PS Tral Inspector Tajamul Islam, seized the two tractors involved in illegal excavation activities.

 

Similarly, in Awantipora, a police party from Police Station Awantipora, under the supervision of SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hmad, seized two tippers used for illegal mining and transportation of minerals.

 

Accordingly, case FIR NO. 14/2026 under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Tral and Case FIR No.41 /2026 under relevant Sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora, and further investigation has been initiated, it reads.

 

This proactive action against illegal mining is being actively pursued by all Police Stations of Police District Awantipora.

 

Awantipora Police remain committed to taking stringent action against violators who exploit night hours for illegal mineral extraction, police said. (JKNS)
