The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth, families, and tourists, who gathered to experience the winter charm of Dubjan.

The carnival featured various cultural programs, local music, and recreational activities that highlighted the rich culture and traditions of the region. Visitors appreciated the initiative and expressed happiness over such events being organised in Shopian.

Officials said the main aim of the carnival was to promote Dubjan as a major tourist destination and create awareness about its tourism potential. They added that such events help attract more tourists, boost the local economy, and generate livelihood opportunities for residents.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has ordered the opening of several tourist places across Kashmir, including Dubjan, Peer Ki Gali, and Padpawan in Shopian district, to facilitate tourism and improve visitor access.

Locals welcomed the initiative and said such events help showcase the natural beauty of the area while creating opportunities for local businesses and employment.

It is worth mentioning that a Winter Festival was also organized at Dubjan last year, which received a positive response. This year’s Dubjan Carnival saw even greater participation, reflecting the increasing popularity of the destination among tourists and residents alike. (JKNS)
