Jammu, Feb 16 (JKNS): Three inmates lodged at the Observation Home in R.S. Pura escaped after attacking and injuring two on-duty police personnel, officials said on Monday.
Jammu police in a statement as per news agency JKNS, police said that the escaped inmates have been identified as Karajeet Singh, a resident of Dablehar R.S. Pura, and Mohd Suna-ullah and Ahsan Anwar, both Pakistani nationals.
The incident occurred at around 5:15 pm when the trio allegedly assaulted the guards on duty and managed to flee from the facility. The injured police personnel were provided medical assistance.
Police said that cognisance of the matter has been taken and an investigation has been initiated. Special teams have been constituted and raids are being conducted at multiple locations to apprehend the absconding inmates. (JKNS)
