The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 650 local youths, reflecting growing interest in winter sports across the region. The training programme aimed to nurture sporting talent, encourage constructive engagement, and provide exposure to adventure activities in the snow-bound terrain of TeePee Chowkibal.

Participants expressed heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity, while local residents widely hailed the efforts of the Indian Army in creating positive avenues for youth development and strengthening community engagement.

Notably, 17 children from the deaf and mute community also received ski training during the programme, highlighting the inclusive nature of the initiative. Prizes were awarded to the five best-performing trainees in recognition of their dedication and skill.

The initiative is expected to further strengthen ties between the Army and local communities while contributing to the promotion of winter tourism and the growth of a vibrant sports culture in the region. (JKNS)
