J&K Police organises football tournament under civic action programme in Budgam

Budgam, Feb 12 (JKNS): Police in Budgam organized a knock-out football tournament at District Police Lines Budgam under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2025–26.

The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from various teams across Sub-Division Budgam.

 

The event was inaugurated by Shri Sajad Ahmad-JKPS, DySP Headquarters Budgam, in the presence of Shri Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din and the SHO Budgam.

 

The initiative aimed to engage youth in healthy sporting activities, promote discipline and teamwork, and provide a platform for young players to showcase their talent.

 

The final match was played between Rehbar 11 Budgam and FYCO FC Ompora, with Rehbar 11 Budgam emerging victorious by 1–0. Both teams were felicitated with trophies and cash rewards.

 

Officers highlighted that such initiatives under the Civic Action Programme are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen police-public relations and encourage youth to participate in constructive activities.

 

Local residents and participants appreciated J&K Police for organizing the tournament and expressed hope for the continuation of such events in the future. (JKNS)
