Kishtwar, Feb 4 (JKNS): An encounter erupted between terrorists and security forces in the Chhatroo area of Kishtwar district on Wednesday amid an ongoing search operation, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the exchange of fire began in the Dichaar locality after security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
They said additional forces were immediately rushed to the spot to strengthen the cordon, while the operation was continuing at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, two terrorists were neutralised by security forces in a separate encounter in Udhampur district earlier in the day. (JKNS)
