77th Republic Day Celebrated with Patriotic Fervour and Enthusiasm in District Kulgam

Kulgam, Jan 26 (JKNS): The 77th Republic Day was celebrated across District Kulgam with great fervour, enthusiasm, and patriotic zeal. The Tricolour was unfurled at all police stations, police establishments, and other government offices throughout the district to commemorate the occasion.

The main function was held at the District Police Lines (DPL), Kulgam, where DDC Chairperson Kulgam, Shri Mohd Afzal Parray, was the Chief Guest.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam Shri Athar Aamir Khan (IAS) and SSP Kulgam Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary (IPS), the Chief Guest unfurled the National Flag, inspected the parade, and took the salute from the marching contingents.

The Republic Day parade was commanded by Shri Manav Dhanetiya, IPS (Probationer) and comprised contingents of CRPF, J&K Police, J&K Armed Police, J&K Lady Police, J&K Home Guards, and students from various schools of District Kulgam.

Among those present on the occasion were DDC Members, ADDC Kulgam, Additional SP Kulgam, ACR, ACD, DFO, ARTO Kulgam, DySP HQR Kulgam, DySP DAR Kulgam, DySP Traffic, DySP Telecom, and other senior officers and officials of the civil administration, police, and CRPF.

The celebrations were further enriched by colourful cultural programmes depicting patriotic and cultural themes, presented by cultural clubs, artists, and students from various schools. Later, prizes were distributed among the best parade contingents, cultural performers, and other participants. Best-performing and dedicated police officers, officials, and civilians were also felicitated by the Chief Guest for their exemplary service.

A large gathering of people witnessed the celebrations. In view of the prevailing security scenario, elaborate security arrangements were put in place by District Police Kulgam in coordination with other security agencies to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the event.

The celebration not only marked the significance of Republic Day but also instilled a deep sense of patriotism, unity, and pride among the participants and the public. (JKNS)
