Haji Tasleem Mir appreciated the swift response of the district administration, Tehsil administration, and MLA Karnah Javaid Mirchal for taking prompt action in restoring connectivity. He stated that nearly 80 percent of roads have been cleared so far on a priority basis. However, he expressed concern over several roads that are still blocked, including Kona Gabra, Pathan Galli, Panjtaran, Prada, Amruhi, Riyala, Murchana, Biyari, and Jada. He urged the administration to ensure immediate clearance of these remaining routes to ease public hardship.

While addressing the issue of damages caused by snowfall and strong winds, he stressed that relief should be provided to families whose houses, property, or trees have been damaged. He also highlighted that MLA Karnah Javaid Mirchal is closely monitoring the situation on the ground and remains in direct coordination with the administration to ensure timely support to the public.

On the availability of essential commodities, Haji Tasleem Mir said that most supplies have been adequately stocked, but there is a shortage of milk due to its limited expiry period. He suggested that helicopter services should be activated if required to ensure uninterrupted supply of essentials in case of emergencies.

He added that the overall emergency response is currently under control, but expressed serious concern over the electricity outage in Karnah, which has persisted for the last three days. He appealed to the concerned authorities to restore power supply at the earliest.

Regarding road connectivity, he said that the NH-701 road will remain open only if avalanche warnings remain low, and urged people to avoid unnecessary travel, especially in view of the next predicted snowfall spell from the evening of January 26 to January 28, as forecast by the Meteorological Department.

Haji Tasleem Mir concluded by appealing to the public to cooperate with the administration, remain cautious, and prioritize safety during the ongoing winter conditions.(JKNS)
