Tangmarg-Gulmarg Road Closed Due to Heavy Snowfall, Landslides

Baramulla, Jan 23 (JKNS): The District Administration Baramulla on Thursday issued a traffic advisory announcing the closure of the Tangmarg-Gulmarg road for vehicular movement in view of heavy snowfall and reported landslides in the area.

According to the advisory issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla as per news agency JKNS, road connectivity to Gulmarg has been disrupted due to adverse weather conditions. Tourists and the general public have been advised to refrain from travelling towards Gulmarg until further notice in the interest of safety.

The advisory said that essential clearance and restoration work is underway by the concerned departments, and travel plans should be made only after official confirmation regarding reopening of the road. People have also been urged to strictly follow advisories issued by the District Administration and Traffic authorities from time to time.
