J&K Govt Issues Directions to Celebrate National Voters’ Day on Jan 25 With Theme ‘My India, My Vote’

Srinagar, Jan 20 (JKNS): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued detailed instructions for the celebration of National Voters’ Day (NVD) across the Union Territory on January 25, 2026, in line with the directions of the Election Commission of India.

The order has been issued vide Circular No. 03-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated January 20, 2026, and signed by Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, M. Raju, IAS, As per news agency JKNS, National Voters’ Day will be observed with the theme “My India, My Vote”, and all schools and educational institutions have been asked to organise activities such as debates, discussions, drawing, skits, songs, paintings and essay competitions based on the theme.

The events are to be held at 11:00 am or at any suitable time on January 25, 2026 (Sunday), or on January 23, 2026 (Friday) in areas where January 24 and 25 are non-working days.

The Election Commission has also directed that officers and officials of all government departments, PSUs and corporations in the Union Territory shall be administered the National Voters’ Day pledge on the occasion. Departments have been asked to upload photographs of the events on their official social media handles or websites using the hashtag #NVD2026.

The circular further states that the official logo of National Voters’ Day, highlighting the importance of voting, should be prominently used on official stationery, merchandise and websites during the celebrations.

All Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Deputy Commissioners, Heads of Departments and Managing Directors of PSUs and Corporations have been directed to strictly comply with the instructions issued by the Election Commission of India and ensure meaningful and widespread observance of National Voters’ Day across Jammu and Kashmir.
