Officials focused on educating commuters about the compulsory use of helmets and seat belts, avoiding overspeeding and drunken driving, and refraining from using mobile phones while driving. The initiative aimed at promoting disciplined and responsible driving behaviour among the public.

An official said that such enforcement-cum-awareness drives are being conducted to curb traffic violations, reduce road accidents and ensure the safety of all road users. People were urged to strictly follow traffic regulations and cooperate with the department to foster a safer driving culture.

The MVD Budgam said that similar drives will continue across the district in the coming days to strengthen road safety awareness and minimise traffic violations. (JKNS)
