JK House Faces Allegations of Mismanagement

New Delhi’s JK House in Chanakyapuri is under scrutiny following serious allegations of administrative lapses and lack of accountability, raising concerns among patients, visitors, and staff.

A key issue involves C Block, originally designated for patients from Jammu and Kashmir seeking medical treatment in Delhi. Sources claim the block is no longer being allotted, forcing patients and attendants to arrange costly private accommodation, adding to financial and emotional strain.

Staff postings and transfers have also come under criticism. Employees allege prolonged tenures without rotation, while outsourced workers reportedly continue for years, resulting in arrogance and misbehavior towards visitors. Such practices are viewed as violations of standard administrative norms and have contributed to a stagnant work environment.

The absence of an effective complaint redressal mechanism has worsened the situation. Complaints are often directed to the manager, who is rarely available, leaving visitors and staff frustrated.

Journalists visiting Delhi for official assignments have also reportedly been denied accommodation. Despite JK House being intended to facilitate officials, patients, and accredited media personnel from Jammu and Kashmir, rooms are often unavailable, causing financial and professional difficulties.

In response, residents and stakeholders have urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to intervene, calling for a thorough inquiry, restoration of C Block for patients, and a transparent system for staff transfers and grievance redressal.

Concerns continue to mount over JK House’s management, with growing demands for accountability, transparency, and proper governance.
