SSP Shopian Conducts High-Level Security Review, Orders Tight Vigil Ahead of Republic Day-2026

Shopian, Jan 10 (JKNS): In the run-up to Republic Day-2026, SSP Shopian Mushtaq Ahmad Choudhary, JKPS, on Saturday chaired a comprehensive security review meeting to assess preparedness and fine-tune multi-agency arrangements aimed at ensuring peaceful, secure and incident-free celebrations across the district.

As per news agency JKNS, Ahead of Republic Day-2026 celebrations, SSP Mushtaq, chaired a detailed security review meeting today at Conference Hall DPO Shopian.

SSP Shopian thoroughly assessed the current security landscape and preparedness to guarantee peaceful, incident free celebrations of Republic Day across the District. The meeting was attended by officers from Police, Army, CRPF and representatives from other sister agencies. Discussions focused on deployment strategies, area domination, intelligence sharing, inter-agency coordination, vulnerable point protection and robust access control and traffic plans.

SSP Shopian, stressed heightened vigilance, proactive policing and intensified patrolling to prevent any disruptions to public peace. He directed all personnel to maintain seamless coordination, real-time information exchange and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while prioritizing public convenience and citizen confidence.

The meeting ended with a unified commitment from all agencies to ensure Republic Day-2026 celebrations in District Shopian are peaceful, secure and dignified. (JKNS)
