In his statement as per news agency JKNS, Allaqaband emphasized that his decision to step away is a personal one and not driven by any disagreements or issues with the festival or its team.

He stressed that this choice reflects his own priorities and circumstances at this point in time. He clarified that he holds the festival and its goals in high regard but feels that it is time for him to move on from his role.

“I want to make it clear that my decision to disassociate from the Kashmir Literature Festival is a personal one. It is not due to any conflicts or differences, but rather a reflection of my own current commitments and personal situation. I appreciate the work that the festival does and wish the team the best in all their future endeavors,” said Adv. Jehanzeb Allaqaband.

Allaqaband has expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the festival’s journey and reaffirmed his respect for the festival’s objectives in promoting culture, literature, and dialogue. However, he feels it is important to step aside at this time.
