Dar clarified that financial assistance to Panchayati Raj Institutions from the Centre is continuing without any interruption. He said Gram Sabha meetings are being held regularly and will continue in the current year as well as the next year.

“Central grants to PRIs have not been stopped. Gram Sabhas are being convened and the process will continue in the coming period as well,” he said.

Replying to queries regarding the completion of the tenure of District Development Councils (DDCs), the Minister said that all democratic institutions operate strictly within the ambit of law.

“Every institution functions as per legal provisions. Once the tenure of any body or its representatives comes to an end, it cannot continue beyond that period,” he added. (JKNS)
