Karnah Kupwara: Additional Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Kupwara, Mumtaz Ahmad Peer (JKAS), chaired a meeting to review arrangements for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations at the Mini Secretariat Karnah on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara.
The meeting focused on reviewing preparedness related to security arrangements, venue management, parade, cultural programmes, traffic regulation and overall inter-departmental coordination to ensure smooth and dignified celebrations on January 26 in Karnah.
It is pertinent to mention that the post of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Karnah has been lying vacant for the past four months. Despite repeated requests by the local populace to the higher authorities for filling the vacant post, no SDM has been posted so far, resulting in administrative inconvenience in the subdivision. In view of this, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara directed the ACR to chair the Republic Day arrangement meeting and personally oversee the preparations.
The meeting was attended by Tehsildar Karnah, Naib Tehsildar, SHO Karnah, XEN Karnah, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) from PDD, officials from R&B Department, Principals of Higher Secondary Schools of the area, Principal of Degree College Karnah, Principal ITI Tangdar, Horticulture Officer, Agriculture Officer Tangdar, Block Development Officer (BDO) Tangdar, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Tangdar, and other concerned officers of various line departments.
The ACR emphasized coordinated efforts, timely execution of duties and strict adherence to protocols to ensure the Republic Day celebrations are conducted smoothly and in a befitting manner in Karnah. (JKNS)
