Tragic Tractor Accident in Tadd Village, Karnah, Claims Lives of Two Minor Children

Kupwara, Dec 30 (JKNS): A tragic road accident occurred in Tadd village of Karnah tehsil on Tuesday, in which two minor children lost their lives while another child sustained serious injuries.

Officials told news agency JKNS, The deceased have been identified as Azan (7) and Aliya (6), both residents of Tadd village. Another minor, Shazan Munir, was critically injured in the incident and has been shifted to Sub-District Hospital Tangdar, where he is undergoing treatment.

According to preliminary information, the children were returning from a coaching centre when a tractor, reportedly being driven at a high speed, hit them. The tractor driver was immediately taken into custody following the incident.

Speaking to the media, Tehsildar Karnah Mohammad Amin Bhat said that initial findings point towards overspeeding as the cause of the accident. He added that the matter is under investigation and strict legal action will be taken against the driver as per law.

The incident has triggered deep grief in the area. The district administration has expressed condolences to the bereaved families and assured all possible assistance during this difficult time. (JKNS)
