Srinagar, Dec 18 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Government has authorized all Regional Transport Officers (RTOs) and Assistant Regional Transport Officers (ARTOs) to exercise the powers of Executive Magistrates within their respective jurisdictions.
In an official notification issued by Secretary to Govt Department of Law Justice and Parliamentary Affairs J&K a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of Section 14 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the Government hereby appoints all Regional Transport Officers (RTOS) and Assistant Regional Transport Officers (ARTOS) to exercise the powers of Executive Magistrate (s), within their respective territorial jurisdictions in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, as prescribed under the provisions of BNSS, until further orders.
