Bandipora Police Rescued Fishermen Stranded in Wullar Lake During Night Operation

Bandipora, Dec 18 (JKNS): A timely rescue operation was carried out by Bandipora Police after a few individuals from the Baniyari area of Bandipora district got stranded in Wullar Lake around midnight while extracting water chestnuts.

According to details availablewith news agency JKNS, the individuals were onboard a boat when its operating equipment failed, leaving them stranded in the lake at around 12:00 midnight. Due to the situation, their phone contact with family members was also disconnected, causing serious concern.

Family members immediately contacted Bandipora Police, particularly Police Post Ajas. Acting swiftly, a police team led by DO Ajas, Aeraf Niyaz, rushed to the spot at around midnight and successfully rescued all the stranded individuals. They were safely brought back and reunited with their families.

Speaking to the media today, locals expressed their gratitude to Bandipora Police, especially Police Post Ajas, and appreciated the leadership of DO Aeraf Niyaz for the prompt and courageous rescue operation carried out during the night. (JKNS)
