Doda Police, Book Own Officer in Criminal Misconduct Case

Doda, Dec 6 (JKNS): Reinforcing its stand on transparency and accountability, Doda Police have registered an FIR against one of its own officers after he was found involved in a criminal act.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS resds, Doda Police have registered an FIR against a police official for his involvement in a criminal act, reaffirming the department’s commitment to accountability and impartial law enforcement.

Statemsnt reads that, On 03.12.2025, a written complaint was lodged at Police Post DH Doda by Anzar Majid Malik, alleging that Ghulam Ali S/O Mohd Maqbool Dar, R/O Sadeeqabad Doda, had wrongfully restrained and assaulted him.

Acting promptly on the complaint, FIR No. 272/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Doda, and investigation was initiated, it reads.

During the course of investigation, the accused was identified as an ASI of the Police Department. Upholding its zero-tolerance policy towards any misconduct within the force, Doda Police have set the due legal process into motion, it resds.

Further investigation in the case is underway, reads the statement. (JKNS)
