Youth Dies, Two Injured After Sumo Skids Off Road in Dachhan Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Dec 3 (JKNS): A young man lost his life while two others sustained injuries after a Tata Sumo skidded off the road and rolled down a gorge in Krousa Nalla area of Dachhan in Kishtwar district on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Officials told news agency JKNS, the accident occurred at around 1:30 PM when a Tata Sumo (Registration No. JK17-2897) was on its way from Danrashi to Sounder. The vehicle reportedly slipped off the road and plunged nearly 30-40 metres down a steep slope.

One person, identified as Rizwan Ahmad, son of Farooq Ahmad Mangnoo, a resident of Sagarna Sounder, aged about 19 years, died on the spot.

Two others Museeb Ahmed (18), son of Mohammad Rafi Mangnoo, and Moshin Ahmed (20), son of Mohammad Yousuf Mangnoo, both residents of Sagarna sustained injuries in the mishap.

They were immediately shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar for further treatment, officials added.

Further investigation into the incident has been taken up. (JKNS)
