Srinagar, Dec 02 (JKNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat on Tuesday issued a formal notification announcing the renaming of “Raj Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir” to “Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir.”
According to the notification issued by Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari (IAS), Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor as per news agency JKNS, the decision follows a communication from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, vide Memo No. 7/10/2025 (Part)-M&G dated 25/11/2025, and has been approved by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor.
The order states that the institution previously known as Raj Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir shall henceforth be officially referred to only as “Lok Bhavan, Jammu and Kashmir.”
The renaming takes immediate effect, the notification adds. (JKNS)
