Sopore Police Solve Theft Case in Record Time, Two Arrested; Stolen Utensils Recovered

Sopore, Nov 25 (JKNS): Police in Sopore have swiftly cracked a theft case within 24 hours, arresting two persons and recovering the stolen utensils reported missing from a residence in Model Town.

In a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, The case was registered after Police Post Bus Stand Sopore received a written application from Maqbool Rahman Beigh of Model Town, reporting that unknown persons had stolen utensils from his residence. Police Station Sopore registered FIR 260 of 2025 under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and initiated investigations.

Statement reads that, During the course of inquiry, multiple suspects were detained for questioning. One of them, identified as Shabir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ab Hamid Sheikh of Model Town D, admitted to his involvement.

He informed investigators that part of the stolen material had been concealed at Cooperative Baagh Sopore, while some items had been sold. Acting on this input, police recovered the concealed property, it reads.

Further investigation led to the arrest of another accused, identified as Waseem Nabi Wani of Model Town D, who confessed to having received items stolen by Shabir Ahmad Sheikh. Additional stolen utensils were subsequently recovered from his residence.

Police said further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
